Italian flair, German precision and a somewhat sobering dose of reality—that's the ethos behind the striking BMW Zagato coupe revealed on Friday at the glamorous Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. The one-off coupe features elegant, sporty styling that blends traditional elements from both BMW and Zagato, which each have long histories of working with partners to produce impressive cars. But, this coupe is more than just a design exercise.
The biggest surprise at the 2010 NAIAS was GMC's Granite concept - a design that expands (or rather contracts) the truck/crossover brand's 'professional grade' philosophy to a compact hatchback aimed at urban hipsters and early adopters. Conceived by Frank Saucedo's Advanced Design team in California and then built at GM's Design Center in Detroit, the Granite combines the basic proportions of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB with a military/industrial feel inspired by the current G-Star and Diesel fashion lines. Fiat Panda - now with cleaner Euro 5 engines
The Fiat Panda has now gone on sale in the UK with a new range of Euro 5 compliant engines. Which it has to; Fiat can no longer sell cars that don’t comply with the new Euro 5 regulations. And although we have issues with legislating CO2 emissions, we positively support the ever-increasing restrictions on NOx and Particulate Matter. This is the stuff that actually matters, and Euro 5 toughens-up the limits.
